Partner With

The Woman of Salt

The Woman of Salt is new chamber opera about a mother who chose to look back. In June of 2017, we successfully staged a full production, sold the show out, and are now poised to share this new work with additional communities, performers and production teams.

Here are some offerings to insure your success should you choose to partner with us to stage this new work:

  • $9,000 - $18,000 in matching funds for your marketing and production costs

  • Support for the workshopping that enabled us to create interest, make the opera relevant, and build audience

  • Electronic files to help vocalists and instrumentalists learn the music

  • Support from the composer/librettist to adapt the piece to your setting

  • Aide in seeking and procuring grant funding

  • Participation (if desired) by soprano Laura Wayte, who has mastered the lead role

What we seek:

  • Minimum of two fully-staged performances with an exposure to at least 500 audience members*

  • A marketing and workshop plan

  • Matching dollars from other sources

* If a full-staged production is not feasible for your venue, we're willing to explore partial productions.

Susan Dirks, Audience Member and Classical Music Lover

“The Woman of Salt was so moving! It was a revelation to experience AhDoo’s entire story. All of the voices were amazing and your music and orchestrations were beautiful and complex. One of my favorite sections was “Why Do Mothers and Daughters Count for So Little?”, and I loved that you ended with an emotional tenor aria. It made me cry. Plus, the staging was well-imagined and realized. It’s really a wonderful piece and I feel honored to have seen its premiere.”
